From Chapter 2
THE GHOST WHO BELIEVED I WAS HIS WIFE

One day after taking a shower, I opened the shower curtain to step out to meet cooler than normal air, and as I opened the shower curtain, standing in front of me, was a full apparition of a tall man.

His face was pox-marked from acne and he was wearing a cowboy hat with a black 3/4 length leather trench coat. The apparition looked like a living person but was projected in a luminous mist form. I could see clear translucent colours and his distinctive features. For some strange reason, he reminded me of a country singer who sang in bars. He was standing outside the tub with a stone-cold stare. Horrified, I let out a blood curdling shriek at him, “What the hell?”

As soon as I screamed, he disappeared. I was terrified that the ghost watched me shower. I quickly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself and ran into my bedroom to get dressed. I kept thinking about my privacy being invaded by a ghost. I yelled at the unwanted ghost, and more or less cursed him. I couldn’t understand why this ghost would show himself to me, nor why he was so strong around me. I didn’t sense him earlier when I got in the shower and I didn’t hear anything before that.

Paranormal activity still happened in the house and mostly at night. I was still hearing strange noises, the floor creaks and footsteps of someone going up or down the stairs, and the banging and clanging of pots and pans. I was so terrified and at the same time angry with whomever was haunting my house. I didn’t know what type of ghost was doing this. Back then, there wasn’t a whole lot of information on this sort of thing.

One night while I was lying in bed on my stomach, I was asleep until I felt hands pushing down on my back. The hands were at the bottom of each side of my ribs and they were putting pressure on my back. The firm pressure was very noticeable as I could feel my stomach and ribs pressing into the mattress, the springs pressing into my ribs. I began to panic and screamed because I didn’t know what else this ghost would do. I cursed at him. Crying, I blurted out, “Why are you doing this to me?”

The ghost continued to hold me down onto the bed. I was plagued with high anxiety, sweating, and my breathing was getting short. The ghost didn’t respond and it was as if the ghost was lying on top of me applying all of his weight, pressing me deeper and deeper into the mattress. I was so overcome with panic and fright, I wasn’t sure if I would black out or not. I wasn’t even sure what time it was and had no idea how long this ordeal had taken because I had lost track of time. I started praying to my higher power for this entity to stop this, and for the entity to leave our house.

Finally, the ghost took its hands off me and the pressure stopped. My ribs felt a bit tender from the springs going into my ribs. I was so terrified that I immediately jumped off the bed and ran out of my room. All I could envision was the man’s face, and him watching me in the shower. He had such a stone-cold expression. I shuddered at the thought. It was freaking me out to know he was hanging around me. I did a spiritual cleansing and I performed the ritual throughout the house.
